About us
Barnsley College University Centre is a part of Barnsley College, one of the most successful Further Education colleges in South Yorkshire, offering a range of vocational, A Levels, apprenticeship, T Levels (Technical qualifications), part-time and Higher Education pathways to approximately 9,000 students.
Barnsley College is rated Outstanding by Ofsted and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Further Education (CIFE). It regularly receives awards for teaching and the support available to students and it ranks highly in the National Student Survey (NSS).
Our town centre campuses which host our Higher Education study are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for you to use. Our brand-new Barnsley College University Centre, incorporating the South Yorkshire Institute of Technology (IoT), is set to open in the 2024/25 academic year.
What makes us different
Our tuition fees are just £5,995* per year for full-time courses. This is considerably less than many other Higher Education providers. Part-time course fees are calculated on a course-by-course basis. There are a number of funding options available to those eligible.
Our brilliant academic staff, support is also on hand for a range of issues from the Student Services team and Students’ Union.
We are proud to work with excellent academic partners to deliver a quality experience to our students. Our degree programmes are validated by the University of Hull, Leeds Trinity University and Sheffield Hallam University.
