Unpronounceable name, unforgettable experience. Sitting in a self-contained campus in the heart of historic Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) is widely recognised for its consistently high student satisfaction, good employability rates, and its dedication to supporting students for more than 160 years.

Our story began in the 1860s as an Anglican teacher training college for women, which makes us one of the oldest Higher Eduation Institutions in the UK. Since then, we've grown, adapted and modernised to become the thriving university we are today. We're still experts in teaching and education, but we've now got a wider portfolio of exciting degree courses than ever before. We currently educate over 2,000 students in a wide range of subjects, from Undergraduate Degree level to PhD, and much more in between.
