By air:

Manchester International Airport is about 8 miles, or a 20-minute drive, from The Principal Hotel Manchester on Oxford Street. Typically a taxi fare should cost around £20-30.

Trains leave regularly from the airport to Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly stations - both a short walk from the hotel. If you’d like a private/chauffeur-driven transfer, please contact the hotel concierge on 0161 233 5090.

Parking

The Principal Hotel does not have its own car park. Parking is available at a reduced rate of £15 for 24 hours/overnight at the NCP Manchester Palace Car Park on Whitworth Street - payable at the hotel, a short walk away. Please take your ticket to reception for validation.

Bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation (not included in residential conference package):

A limited number of bedrooms at The Principal Hotel, Manchester are available for additional nights before and after the conference, and can be booked on a first come first served basis (Friday 1 – Sunday 3 June and Tuesday 5 – Wednesday 6 June inclusive).

Rooms are charged per night including full English breakfast.

If you’re attending the post-conference tour of universities, please note that accommodation on Tuesday 5 June is not included in the conference package, and can be booked as part of your registration, unless you have made other arrangements.

A post-conference visit to Manchester Metropolitan University will take place on the morning of Wednesday 6 June.

Manchester Metropolitan University has kindly invited delegates attending the UCAS International Teachers and Advisers Conference to visit the university on the morning of Wednesday 6 June 2018.

The visit will be an opportunity to look around Manchester Metropolitan University, talk to university representatives, and meet student ambassadors.

The visit is free of charge to all delegates, and is available on a first come first served basis, as places are limited. 

About the tour:

UCAS is pleased to once again be working in partnership with Univisits Ltd, to plan and deliver a post-conference tour of several UK Higher Education Institutions.

What can you expect from the tour:

The tour runs from Wednesday afternoon to Saturday, and will visit five universities, chosen carefully to offer you a range of differing institutions. The cost of the tour includes hotel accommodation (in a shared room), all ground transportation, and most meals.

Each visit will last approximately four hours. You’ll meet with the relevant international office personnel, academics, and international students.

For the post-conference tour, transport will be arranged from Manchester Metropolitan University at approximately 14:15 on Wednesday 6 June, to start the tour of the five universities, and will drop-off at Manchester Airport at approximately 11:00 on Saturday 9 June.

Please note, accommodation for the night of Tuesday 5 June is not included in the post-conference tour. 

Post-conference tour schedule:

Wednesday 6 June

Tour will begin after the visit to Manchester Metropolitan University. Travel to and visit University of Central Lancashire. Overnight stay. 

Thursday 7 June

Breakfast and transfer. Visit Lancaster University and Leeds Beckett University. Overnight stay. 

Friday 8 June

Breakfast and visit to the University of Leeds and Liverpool John Moores University. Overnight stay.

Saturday 9 June

Breakfast. Transfer to Manchester airport. 

Cost of the tour:

The cost of the full three-day, three-night tour, to include all ground transportation and hotel accommodation in a shared room, will be £495, plus VAT.

Single occupancy rooms are available at a cost of £200 + VAT for the three nights.

Important:

Accommodation for the night of Tuesday 5 June (which is not included in the post-conference tour or the conference package) at The Principal Manchester can be booked as part of the registration process.

The tour is based upon a minimum group of ten people on Friday 4 May 2018.

A full refund will be offered to all delegates if, for any unforeseen reason, there is insufficient demand to run the tour.
