Edward Pollock
Biography
Edward is Innovation Manager in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group at Robert Gordon University. As an alumnus of RGU, Edward has held multiple roles in the university from developing the university employability framework, to planning events, to a member of the Board of Governors, to lecturing part-time. In his current role as Innovation Manager, he delivers the RGU Start Up Accelerator programme, mentors’ entrepreneurs, and leads on events and marketing for the team.
Edward started at RGU in 2012, studying a BA (Hons) Event Management before getting involved in extra-curricular activities. During his time both as a volunteer, and later as student President (Communication and Democracy) Edward founded several new events and campaigns including an annual international carnival, housing campaign and national award-winning Safe Taxi Scheme. As a sabbatical President, Edward managed a £1 million organisation leading on strategy, communication, governance and student engagement for two years, before returning for a final year of studies and graduating with a first-class honours.
Prior to studying at RGU, Edward founded clean water charity the Aqua Initiative which started as a school project. The project raised tens of thousands of pounds and built water wells around the world and resulted in Edward being awarded an International Princess Diana Award. In addition to his role guiding entrepreneurs, Edward serves as a reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
