Tour (optional)
Tour starts at 4.00pm

This is your opportunity to explore LCC's photography studios, analogue and digital printing suites, finishing and processing areas, as well as our extensive library and creative IT hub, The Digital Space. The tour will be given by current LCC students and should last approximately 40 minutes.

Preparing for an application for LCC MA Photography:
MA Photography at LCC is based around the development of a single research-based and conceptually strong exhibition project. Online applications to the course will need to include a portfolio and a promising project proposal, so our portfolio surgeries also offer a unique opportunity to run through some of your ideas with your potential future tutors and get some valuable feedback.

Study proposal: This project proposal should be a feasible, researched outline of a specific project that you plan to photograph. This should include how you plan to develop your project and also provide a sense of subject matter, visual style, conceptual approach, associated research, and how much you know about contemporary fine art photography.

Portfolio: The portfolio should demonstrate that you have an understanding of project-based visual inquiry. It should consist of two completed bodies of work (6-10 images each), including installation shots of how the work was completed in exhibition with a short artist statement. Please include only self-authored works (rather than research materials).

Personal Statement: This should describe what you concentrated on during your BA, especially if you did not study on a BA Photography programme before, why you now want to undertake an MA Photography at LCC, and what you are hoping to do after the course.

Your application as a whole should give us a sense of how you locate yourself in your area of practice and how MA Photography will further your understanding of conceptual photographic art practice.

Booking is essential for the MA Photography Portfolio Surgery. Please arrive 15 minutes before the session begins.
