Experience a taste of postgraduate study with our London Met Lab: Empowering London lecture series. During these sessions you’ll be able to participate in a taster lecture delivered by one of our postgraduate academics and engage in a lively discussion and debate with fellow prospective students.
Tue 13 April 2021 - 16:00 to 17:30

Is art situated in a public space inherently "public art"? Who decides what the public wants or needs? How is this phrase evolving, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter and Extinction Rebellion? What are the professional opportunities in this area?

Join Dr Jacek Ludwig Scarso, course leader for our Public Art and Performance MA, to explore the changing connotations of the phrase “public art”.

During this lecture Dr Scarso will lead the discussion on relevant practices and theories in the field and explain the approach taken in our Public Art and Performance MA.

This online session will begin at 4pm with a presentation and taster lecture. After that, you’ll have the opportunity to ask Dr Scarso any questions and to participate in a group discussion on any of the key topics raised.
