Student support

The student support service at Norland provides help with any learning support or pastoral needs and to answer any questions.

The Student Support team offer a free, confidential and supportive service tailored to individual student needs - from registering with a GP, to planning and writing essays, supporting students with specific educational needs and transitioning to degree-level study. They run study skills drop-in sessions based on individual student learning requirements, helping students to identify and achieve their study goals. Students are also assigned a personal tutor to help with academic advice and support.

The Student Assistance Programme provides a complete support network that offers confidential expert advice and compassionate guidance 24/7.

Norland’s Here to Hear peer support programme provides another layer of support for students, with volunteers undertaking a comprehensive training curriculum to equip them with the tools to help others manage their struggles. The Norland Buddy Scheme matches current students with new students so that no one feels alone when they begin their university journey.
