Student support

LEARNING SUPPORT

USW provides advice, information and resources to help improve academic performance.
Students can also get help with maths and statistics, and advice on effective reading, referencing and presentations. Personal academic coaches, one-to-one academic support and peer-assisted group study sessions are available.

DISABILITY SUPPORT

USW offers support for a range of disabilities, learning differences, and health conditions. USW's Disability Service provides information and advice, one-to-one appointments and individual support plans. Enrolled USW students may be eligible to receive a free dyslexia assessment with support from the Diagnostic Testing Bursary.

HEALTH SERVICES

A nurse-led service is available to all USW students, in addition to services provided by GPs and the NHS. The nurse-led service at USW offers advice on repeat prescriptions, sexual health, diet and nutrition, sleep problems and more.
USW is part of the C-Card scheme to support sexual health.

WELLBEING SERVICES
Wellbeing advice appointments can signpost students to specialist support, including counselling.
Students can also be referred to wellbeing classes, workshops or group activities (e.g. therapy dogs, craft workshops, yoga, book clubs).
Students have access to a suite of self-help materials and a 24/7 support community moderated by clinical professionals.
