A call centre operator makes, takes and manages calls in a call centre. You may be making outgoing sales or information calls, or you could be receiving calls and offering advice or taking customer feedback. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills, a good level of English and a pleasant phone manner to do this job. 


What do I need to do to become a call centre operator?

No specific courses are required, but any that include aspects of customer service may provide useful knowledge and experience e.g hospitality and catering, travel and tourism. It may also be possible to start work through an apprenticeship.
