Situated on the sea-front directly opposite the West pier, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the town centre. Brighton train station is a fifteen-minute walk.

Travel by air:

Gatwick Airport is about a 53-minute drive to the hotel. Heathrow Airport is about an hour and a half drive.

Travel by car:

There is a hotel car park just behind the hotel in St Margaret’s Place, Brighton, BN1 2FD. Max height 1.8m. The cost is £25 daily.

Travel by train:

The hotel is a five-minute walk from Brighton train station. A train from London Blackfriars or Victoria takes approximately an hour.

Residential conference package

Including conference attendance on both days, all meals from lunch on Thursday 4 June, to and including lunch on Friday 5 June, and overnight accommodation on Thursday 4 June.

Pre-conference tour

• The cost of the full three-day, three-night tour, to include all ground transportation and hotel accommodation on Sunday 31 May – Tuesday 2 June in a shared room, will be £500 + VAT.
• Single occupancy rooms are available at a supplement of £210 + VAT for the three nights.

Bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation (not included in residential conference package):

A limited number of bedrooms at Hilton Brighton Metropole, are available for additional nights before and after the conference, and can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis (Monday 1 – Wednesday 3 June inclusive, and Friday 5 June – Saturday 6 June inclusive). Any additional nights can be added to your conference booking through the online registration.  

Rooms are charged per night and include full English breakfast.

About the tour

UCAS is pleased to once again be working in partnership with Univisits Ltd, to plan and deliver a pre-conference tour of several UK higher education providers.

What can you expect from the tour

The tour runs from Sunday evening until Wednesday, and you will visit five universities – chosen carefully to offer you a range of differing providers. The cost of the tour includes hotel accommodation (in a shared room), all ground transportation, and most meals.

Each visit will last approximately four hours. You’ll meet with the relevant international office personnel, academics, and international students.

For the pre-conference tour, transport will be arranged from Heathrow Airport at approximately 15:00 on Sunday 31 May, to start the tour of the five universities, and will drop-off at the conference hotel at approximately 16:00 on Wednesday 3 June.

Please note, accommodation for the night of Wednesday 3 June is not included in the pre-conference tour, but can be booked as an extra night through the online registration. 

Pre-conference tour schedule

Sunday 31 May

Pickup from Heathrow airport, with overnight stay in the Oxford area. 

Monday 1 June

Tour will begin with a visit to the University of Oxford. You will then travel to, and visit, Reading University. Overnight stay. 

Tuesday 2 June

Breakfast and transfer. Visit the University of Surrey and the University of Southampton. Overnight stay. 

Wednesday 3 June

Breakfast and visit to the University of Portsmouth. Transfer to conference hotel.                                               

Cost of the tour

The cost of the full three-day, three-night tour, to include all ground transportation and hotel accommodation in a shared room, is £500 +VAT.

Single occupancy rooms are available for an extra £210 +VAT for the three nights.

Important: Accommodation for the night of Wednesday 3 June (which is not included in the pre-conference tour or the conference package) at the Hilton Metropole, Brighton, can be booked as part of the registration process.

The tour is based on a minimum group of ten people booking by Friday 1 May 2020. A full refund will be offered to all delegates if there is insufficient demand to run the tour.

Delegates attending the conference have been invited to visit Imperial College London on Wednesday 3 June.

You will have an opportunity look around Imperial, talk to university representatives, hear from a panel of international students, as well as enjoy a networking lunch.

Delegates booking a place at the conference will be asked whether they wish to attend the Imperial College London visit as part of the online registration.

Delegates are invited to attend an evening reception at University of Brighton on Wednesday 3 June.

Please note that the timings allow you to attend both the visit to Imperial College London and the reception at University of Brighton, should you wish.

Delegates booking a place at the conference will be asked whether they wish to attend the University of Brighton reception as part of the online registration.

The University of Sussex has kindly invited delegates attending the UCAS International Teachers’ and Advisers’ Conference to visit the university on the morning of Saturday 6 June 2020.  

The visit will be an opportunity to look around the university, talk to university representatives, and meet student ambassadors.

The visit is free of charge to all delegates, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis, as places are limited.

Delegates booking a place at the conference will be asked whether they wish to attend the University of Sussex visit as part of the online registration.
