University of WarwickUndergraduate Life SciencesI studied Biology, chemistry, maths and french for A levels and chose to do biochemistry at Warwick because of the opportunity to complete a paid research placement and complete your masters at the same time. I also love the campus vibes and felt very at home when I first visited. I am passionate about research, especially in the field of antimicrobial resistance. In the summer I will be conducting a research project using AlphaFold to model the Enzymes involved in the production of a gram-negative enterobacterial cell surface protein called the O-antigen polysaccharide. The aim of the research is to build more accurate 3D models of the enzymes involved and test different ligands to see if they can act as inhibitors. These can then be tested for the ability to form novel antibiotics. My career ambitions are not that clear to me yet. After my Industrial Masters I would I may want to go into a research role. However, I also have a passion for finance, so I am currently gaining experience in this industry alongside my degree so to have as many options as possible for the future. Lyn

Brunel University of LondonLife SciencesHi! I’m Rashmi, a second-year BSc Life Sciences student at Brunel University London. I’m passionate about exploring bioinformatics, combining biology and data analysis to tackle complex problems like genetic disorders and drug development. Outside academics, I enjoy drawing, playing badminton, and teaching, which allows me to connect, share knowledge, and inspire curiosity. If you have any questions about life at Brunel, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help! 😊 Alena

Bangor UniversityMedical SciencesStarting medical school was both exciting and slightly overwhelming, as I fortunately received an offer through clearing. At Bangor University, I’ve learned that medicine isn’t just about studying—it’s about adapting, growing, and finding balance. While Bangor may not be the biggest city, its supportive atmosphere and hands-on learning made it a great place to begin my journey. With mountains to hike, lakes to explore, and breathtaking scenery all around, there’s always a way to escape the stress of studying. My time at Bangor has also given me the opportunity to explore nearby cities, allowing me to discover new places and fully enjoy the experience of traveling. Outside of medicine, I stay active through athletics, enjoy cooking (and eating!), unwind with movie nights, and stay grounded through Bible study. Hiba
University of WestminsterBiomedical Sciences BSc HonoursHello! My name is Hiba, and I'm a Biomedical Science student currently on my placement year, bridging the gap between textbooks and real-world lab work. I'm a huge fan of chasing adventures (my travel bucket list is endless!), but I equally love the true joy of a lazy day with a new series to binge. I also work as a Student Ambassador for the university, talking to prospective students about my course and what it's like to study here. So, whether you're curious about the academics, placement opportunities, or just want to chat about balancing studies with travel plans and lazy days, feel free to message me! I'm more than happy to help Hugh

University of StrathclydeFaculty of Humanities and Social SciencesHi! I'm an international student from Singapore currently studying a joint honours degree course at Strathclyde. I chose to study here at quite the last minute because I changed my mind about what I wanted to pursue and Strathclyde allows me to do joint honours for a combination of subjects which is not offered by most universities. I have been really enjoying my classes so far and I am looking forward to my remaining years ahead at university! Feel free to ask me questions about being an international student, student life, or what it's like in Glasgow :D
