Kirsty Knox

Deputy Head of Recruitment, Admissions, and Participation Service, University of the West of Scotland (UWS)

Biography

Kirsty is the Deputy Head of Recruitment, Admissions, and Participation Service Team at UWS.

Kirsty has worked at UWS since 1998. Prior to taking on her current role, Kirsty spent time in a number of recruitment and marketing roles, latterly as Admissions Manager, managing the admissions process for all applications to the university, for all five campus locations.

Kirsty moved to the role of Deputy Head in 2016, and continues to have responsibility for managing the admissions process for all university applications, but also now manages the Student Recruitment Team that focuses on UK recruitment, plus the Applicant Enquiry Team handling all applicant enquiries.

Kirsty was instrumental in establishing a centralised admissions service to serve the multi-campus university – developing the relationship between admissions, schools, and business intelligence within the university – and was a key lead on the development of the new online application form for the university.

In addition to her internal engagement, Kirsty is also a member of UCAS’ Undergraduate Advisory Group, represents UWS on UCAS’ Scottish Practitioner’s Group and Scottish Standing Group, and represented UWS on the Scottish Government’s Equalities and Human Rights Committee.
