An opportunity to experience a mini-lecture on Defamation followed by a presentation about the LLB programme.
What Depp-Heard and Wagatha Christie teach us about the law of Defamation. The Defamation Act 2013 sets out the law on defamation. The law states that, “a statement is not defamatory unless its publication has caused or is likely to cause serious harm to the reputation of the claimant”. The law also sets out a number of defences to defamation.

Theme: Machine Learning in Ultrasound Image Analysis for Helping Early Cancer Diagnosis
Cancer can be a life-threatening disease. Ultrasound imaging has been widely used to assist doctors in diagnosing cancers. However, although ultrasound imaging is safe and non-intrusive, the poor image quality poses a serious challenge for radiologists to interpret the image correctly. Yet, experienced radiologists are constantly in short supply. AI/Machine Learning, particularly deep learning has shown its huge potential in medical image analysis for cancer diagnosis in recent years. This talk introduces some recent work in this field. The talk will highlight the great potentials of AI in medical image analysis.
